new kit

It was birthday this week and along with the finding of a nice new house I also had some exciting gifts from Ralph.

I got this, terrifyingly beautiful.

Its to take out when I go hunting for harvest. It does scare the life out of me. I had a bit of a go with it today, I opened out each blade in turn. I carefully shut each blade with the total terror that I'd cut off a finger. I cut the corner off the copy of vogue I bought last month. It's really sharp.
Terrifying.
It's a Rough Rider.

I got this too, to go with. Going to take it to work tomorrow and have a go as haven't had a chance to look at it much yet, I hear it's good. My mission is to come home with what I'm hoping are crab apples. If not tomorrow, with the begrudging help of Ranger Robert, then the work experience person is going to have a treat on Monday.

shhh, leggings

Being a grown up woman now I feel that I shouldn't be writing about leggings, I shouldn't have leggings, I shouldn't wear them. There is something adolescent and tasteless about leggings.

I really like leggings. They fit hair metal frontier. I like to wear them underneath skirts and dresses. I like exciting leggings, I really wanted the grey suede ones that they had last year in topshop. I went to look for some to put on here and couldn't find that many that I liked. I dont like black leggings very much but maybe the ones here are ok because they are exciting.

Right, these are woollen, oaty ones from princesse tam tam and navy ones from humanoid (I have an open cardigan thing from humanoid which is really lovely, was in the sweaty betty sale you see)

Velvet ones, with panels from jean paul gaultier and the ones that spurred me to do this post, grey velvet from gestuz. I'm going to sneekily get them when Ralph's not looking.

Grey-ish-feature ones, with buttons all the way but £200 future classics, acid wash and cheap from new look and churidar with ankle buttons from toast (I have these in orange, they fall down so please if the toast people are reading this can you make some kind of stretch jersey panel at the top to keep them up? I do still love them but they could be more functional and you wouldn't see under a dress)

Leather and suede, hmmm mmmm, crazy designer numbers. Heres me wishing I spent the hundreds on the topshop ones!? Leather pair from dna, glazed ones from haider ackermann and stretch leather from helmut lang.

AND THESE ARE MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITES, PLEASE COULD I HAVE A PAIR?
Haider Ackermann

I did want to justify this all with some nice pictures of people from the olden days from far away places, to add some cultural context. Didn't see any yet.
How about this instead, its relevent...

new house toast

Yesterday we said yes to a little house. It's in Walthamstow and I'm very excited, I've been waiting for a home forever, its going to be all cats and plants.

Also today, Toast have released their new home collection. There are some lovely things as usual, my favourite being the flannel stripe bedlinen. I do love the ticking.

When the looting starts I'm heading straight over to the toast warehouse.

a while ago, we foraged

Here we are getting some blackberries from near my house, Ralph doing the climbing, and me waiting with the bag.
I did not have the correct footwear for clambering. I'm wearing gold lame leggings too.

Here is a ropey picture of the other produce, apples from the greenway, sweet peas from the greenway and the things that turned out not really to be artichokes from fish island. They looked nice in the vase though.

And here is the produce pie, shame the light was too bad for the camera as it looked beautiful.
It did collapse as soon as I cut it.

nice home things

I found this place a while ago, Garden Trading, and it has some nice things. They sent an email as there is an offer and some new things. I really like this potato basket, maybe because it looks like something for the cats.

These are good, I like enamel.

I'd like to put up photos of things I have, I have a very good red enamel double boiler and a long handled ladle-jug thing from my one and only trip to the French countryside. I love enamel.
